Gallerie D'Italia
Description
In the heart of Naples, a section of Palazzo Piacentini, the historic headquarters of the Banco di Napoli, has been transformed into the new museum Gallerie d’Italia through a restoration and adaptive reuse project that highlights its architectural and cultural heritage. The project reinterprets the spaces of the 1940s rationalist building to accommodate new exhibition functions, integrating museum itineraries, event areas, and meeting spaces within a structure designed to engage with the city and the contemporary public. Historical materials and new elements coexist in harmony: original marble, stucco, and wood are paired with contemporary finishes and integrated technological solutions, accompanying the building’s evolution without altering its identity
