Ex Tobler
Description
On the outskirts of Turin’s historic center, a symbolic site of the city’s industrial heritage is being repurposed through a project that combines renovation and new construction. The former Tobler factory, the historic Italian headquarters of the Swiss chocolate brand, is being reimagined as a contemporary residential complex.
The historic street-facing wings are restored and enhanced, while the new structures complete the project with a coherent and contemporary architectural language. The apartments are arranged around private outdoor spaces, terraces, and green roofs that help improve living comfort and the relationship with the urban context. Advanced construction solutions and high-performance energy systems are integral to the project, reducing energy consumption and enhancing the building’s overall quality. The project breathes new life into a site deeply rooted in the city’s industrial history, transforming it into a contemporary residence that successfully blends heritage, innovation, and quality of living.
