Casa Del Senato
Description
The Casa del Senato is situated within Turin’s Roman city walls, in one of the city’s most historically layered areas. The project focuses on a building that retains its 15th-century facade, the only original feature to have survived the bombings, integrating it with the sections rebuilt after the war.
The addition of a new tower serves as a connecting element and a unifying force, capable of recomposing the architectural façade and reestablishing continuity between the different eras. The interior spaces house residential units and commercial functions, while the upper levels open onto the urban landscape with terraces at varying heights. The intervention recomposes the existing layers, reestablishing continuity and legibility between the different eras.
